The number of domains you can register is unlimited, but there are some general
eligibility guidelines depending on the type of domain in question.
.com.au, .net.au, .org.au, .asn.au domain
extensions
The allocation rules relating to registration of Australian domain names has changed. You can now
register multiple Australian domain
names under certain conditions. You can register an exact match, abbreviation, and/or acronym of
your organisation name, trading name, or trademark. You may also register additional Australian domain
names that reflect your: brands, products, services, venue, events, activities, professions, trademarks.
.id.au domain extension
id.au domain names are available for registration
to any Australian citizen or resident. Multiple .id.au domain names may be registered. An applicant may
register his or her initials, personal name or a derivative thereof, or his or her nickname.
Global domain name registration
The rules regarding multiple .com, .net, .org, .info, .biz
domain names are much more relaxed and you can register
as many of these as you wish. There are no limitations.
Tip: If you're an Australian business,
you should register the .com.au and
.com equivalent of your business name as soon as possible - before somebody
else does!
